SCHOOL VISITS FAQ
Currently, I offer school visits for grades pre-K (age 3 and up) to 8th grade. I've developed dynamic, entertaining presentations customized for different grade levels.

- Q and A time (for older grades) so kids can ask their own questions about author life.
: What grade levels do you present to?
A: Currently I present to grades Pre-K (ages 3 and up) to 8th.
Q: How many presentations will you do in one day for a school?
A: Currently I will do up to four per day, for different grade levels.
Q: How long does each presentation last?
A: Pre-K to 3rd lasts 20-30 minutes, older grades last 30-45 minutes.
Q: Will you do different types of presentations for each grade?
A: Yes. For the younger grades I focus on Arctic animals and short tidbits about writing/creativity. For the older grades I focus on chapter books I've written, the author journey, and how I became a writer. All of my presentations include a slide show.
Q: Do you offer books for sale and to autograph?
A: Of course! I bring order forms to the school for the teachers to give to the kids. They can order books within a week after my visit, and specify which names they want me to inscribe the book to. I deliver the autographed books to the school within four weeks after they've been ordered.
Q: How much do school visits cost?
A: Currently the charge is FREE for school visits within a 20 mile radius of Bastrop, Texas. Travel expenses will be charged for schools outside this radius. Virtual school visits through Zoom are FREE for a limited time with student order form distribution.

Q: Do you prefer multi-class assemblies or visiting classrooms?
A: For most schools, multi-class assemblies work better so that all children are included.
Q: What do you require for setup?
A: Depends on the school. I can work with just my books and props or I can run a slide show with a laptop and projector/smart board.
Q: Do you provide posters to put up around school and flyers with order forms?
A: Yes! You can find a printable PDF on my website (Below) as well as a sample order form. Please let me know how many order forms to bring along so I can make sure every child receives one.
