One of the concepts I focus on in my book, The Amazing Adventures of Toby the Trilby is the idea of 'what if everything was gone?' What if the world had no organized churches, no religious base, no one who even remembered what they believed? What if the people remaining in the world had to decide for themselves what to believe with a few remaining shreds of civilization? How would God reveal himself in a new way?
To many of us, the idea of starting from scratch might even be offensive. We have our churches, our treasured traditions and memories passed down from generations before us. We have our pet ideas and concepts about God that we would hold to and even die for. But in the end, if all of that was gone, and we only had the still, small voice in our hearts, what would God say? What would He reveal about Himself? What is the first instruction He would implement?
This is my theory, presented in book form. But I will tell you right here what I think He would say, in the fewest words possible. "I love you. Go and love others."
